Since its inception in 1950, the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (SCDSA) has sought to promote the best interests of the more than 1,800 law enforcement personnel it represents who serve in many positions that make up the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
While we primarily represent our members, we also find it important to contribute to the welfare of the communities we serve. That’s why we are seeking your partnership for the publication of this educational website regarding illegal drugs, violent gangs and terrorism.
Gangs have a profound effect on the crime and violence in our communities, and their presence threatens the peace we enjoy as citizens. According to the Department of Justice, there could be as many as 300,000 gang members within California. The ominous threat of terrorism is another concern for many Americans.
Part of overcoming these growing problems includes educating the public about these dangers to help curb their influence. Throughout the years this is what the SCDSA has sought to do through the publication of an informative magazine called The Deputy, written by law enforcement officers and other experts with formal education and/or extensive experience with crime and gang activity.
Education eliminates fears and empowers our communities, which is why we’ve made this information available to many more people now via the Internet.
Your support will help us continue these efforts and others that challenge violence in all its forms. On behalf of the Board of Directors and members of the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, I would like to thank you for supporting our efforts. Information on becoming a supporter is available by clicking on the link above under “How Can I Help.” Thank you again. I hope you find the information available on our website to be helpful.
Sincerely,
Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association
